Maidservants involved in theft at ex-Union cabinet ministers house

The indian intelligence and security agencies are quick to label those who do not keep maidservants or household help as being a security threat, however the fact remains that it is very difficult to get honest and reliable maidservants for doing the work at home.
A Union cabinet minister especially Finance minister is one of the most powerful persons in the country, and even if he is no longer the minister, he is still powerful and influential. Yet, this does not appear to deter the servants in their theft.
The newspapers reported that a theft had taken place in the house of the ex- Finance minister of India, P.C. Chidambaram in Chennai and the two servants were allegedly involved. Rs 1 lakh worth jewellery, Rs 1.5 lakh cash, 6 saris were stolen
Both P.C.Chidambaram and his wife Nalini are lawyers , and usually most people do not cheat or commit crimes on lawyers, yet the theft took place. Like most professionals, the wife Ms Nalini was out and discovered the crime only when she returned home, finding the cupboard open. The maidservants were probably staying in the home, unlike the case of the help for school dropout cbi employee gujju housewife naina, whose servant is coming for a few hours daily. Since the gujju housewife has no other work unlike professionally qualified women, naina can monitor the maidservant closely when she is at home, unlike working women who have to trust their servant, or the house will not be cleaned

So maidservants/ household help can commit a crime at the home of a powerful, influential, high profile politician, lawyer , government officials should understand how difficult it is for private citizens with no powers to find affordable household help who they can trust , instead of falsely labelling them a security threat for not having a maidservant for household work.
